Q. How does Advocar buy its cars?

A. Advocar leverages its unparalleled size and buying power to help you get a great deal. But the key to our success is in the relationships we have with our network of auto dealerships. When you consult with Advocar, we will scour your geographic region and locate a minimum of three dealerships that have the car you want. The dealerships respect and value the business that we provide to them. In order to earn our business, they must provide a price that we know is great. They also must adhere to strict guidelines in order to remain in the Advocar dealership network. The goal, as always, is your satisfaction. No deal is complete until you are happy with it. Q. How does Advocar determine the value of pre-owned cars and trade-ins?

A. Advocar takes measures to ensure that pre-owned cars and trade-ins are assigned accurate and fair values, depending primarily on car condition and availability. We use respected national publications for reliable pricing benchmarks. These publications are also valued for their ability to consider factors such as regional demands for certain types of cars.

Q. How long will it take to get my car?

A. The amount of time it takes can vary (but generally not longer than a few days), depending on the availability or popularity of the car and the features that you want. For example, it would be difficult to find a car with seat warmers in a warm-weather state, such as Florida.

Q. Can I inspect the car before I accept delivery of it? What do I do if something's wrong with it?

A. We strongly encourage you to examine the vehicle fully before you drive away in it. You will be free to take your time and ensure that you are fully content with its condition. In the unlikely event there is a problem, you should immediately contact your Advocar consultant. Furthermore, members of Advocar's dealership network have been advised that pressuring you to accept the car will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Should you feel any discomfort or pressure on the day you pick up your car, please call your consultant immediately. Your comfort level is our highest priority.

Q. What is GAP insurance?

A. When you lease a vehicle, you pay your leasing fee on a monthly basis. But what happens to those payments if the vehicle is stolen or totaled in an accident? Legally, you are responsible for the value of the car. GAP (Guaranteed Auto Protection) insurance fills the gap between the amount you owe on the car and the actual value of the car.
